Curb Appeal Checklist

The outside of your house is extremely important when it comes to a buyer's perception of Curb Appeal.  You should make sure that the yard is maintained to it's best advantage and you should be sure to remove anything that isn't part of the landscaping. Garbage cans are unsightly and should not be stored where they can be seen by a potential buyer.

Starting from the roof, check your home in a systematic way.

  • Is the roof discolored?
  • Are the gutters clean and in good repair?
  • Windows should be spotless and unobstructed.
  • Is all the landscaping freshly trimmed and pruned?
  • What condition is the exterior siding and paint?

  • Power washing can do wonders to make siding look new?
  • Is all the trim paint in good condition?
  • Make sure your front door is in good condition. After all, it is the first thing buyers see and it is the entryway to the home you're trying to sell.
  • Are your flower beds in need of updating?

  • Is your landscaping neatly trimmed?
  • Are there weeds that need to be taken care of?
  • Have you placed down fresh mulch?
  • Are your flowers blooming or drooping?
  • How does that lawn look?

  • Do you need to do some weeding?
  • Do you need to take care of grass clippings, leaves, etc?
  • Edging really puts a nice finishing touch to your lawn landscaping.
